Washington University hosted its fifth Presidential Debate on Sunday, October 9, 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. The debate was held in the Gary M. Sumers Recreation Center and the Athletic Complex. The University had previously held debates prior to the 1992, 2000, and 2004 elections. The 1996 debate was cancelled, however, by action of the Commission on Presidential Debates.
