The conference’s mission is to create a dynamic, learning space where queer people of color can thrive.
The Upper Midwest Queer Indigenous and People of Color Conference creates space to re-center the voices of queer indigenous and people of color. Accessing ourselves broadens the scope of queer justice and radically addresses complex, intersecting issues of race, class, gender, indigenous rights and other inequities that exist locally and globally.
The vision for the Upper Midwest Queer Indigenous and People of Color Conference is to set the platform for a future that transforms the life chances and choices of queer people of color. The Upper Midwest QIPOC Conference builds community by understanding the critical importance of shared knowledge, best practices, and education to overcome challenges to bring excellence to the communities where we work, live, and learn.
