Collection Historical Note

William Greenleaf Eliot, Jr., grandson of the co-founder of Washington University, received a diploma from Smith Academy (a boys preparatory school affiliated with Washington University) in 1884 and his bachelors degree from Washington University in 1888.  He later became a Unitarian minister in Portland, Oregon.
